He started planting coffee around 1915 in Boquete, Panama. Finca de Cafe Osorio, situated in Alto Lino, Boquete began production around 1922. According to our family history, Finca de Cafe Osorio stayed in our family until early 1940\u2019s when the prices of coffee severely fell and the Osorio\u2019s migrated from Boquete and started other business.<br \/>\nIn 2007 Efrain and Benjamin Osorio Baxter acquire a coffee farm from Manuel Lorenzo, a prosperous Spaniard immigrant that owned and worked the land for more than 20 years. The two brothers decided to name the farm Finca La Valentina, in honor of their mother Valentina Baxter de Osorio, who, along with their father Efrain \u201cTito\u201d Osorio, encourage them to restart on the family tradition of coffee.<br \/>\nFinca La Valentina is located at the foothills of the Baru Volcano in the region of Horqueta, township of Los Naranjos, District of Boquete. Slopes from 1500 to 1650 meters above sea level and temperature that oscillates from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius all year round with a great balance of rain, shade and sun; perfect microclimate for growing coffee. Finca La Valentina has a total area of 12.5 HAS where 9.0 HAS are planted with coffee and 3.5 HAS are planted with timber trees (cypress, pines and eucalypts) and citrus fruit trees. Planted with different varietals of ARABICA coffee, mainly GEISHA, RED CATUAI, TYPICA and PACAMARA. Weed control is done manually by our local staff throughout the plantation. There is no use any chemical pesticides or herbicides. Within the farm, there are two beautiful freshwater springs which become our natural source of water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Variety:<\/strong> Catuai y Typica Washed;
